What about teachers and students? How often do we as teachers fail to provide the support (intentionally or unintentionally) to a student because what the teacher wants for the student doesn't match what the student wants for the student? We need to make sure that we try to find a bridge between what we want for students and what they want for themselves. How do we do this? I am not quite sure all of the time. Each student is unique, therefore, we need to be open to creative solutions.
I don't know much about hockey, but I will do my best to help my son be successful in any activity he chooses to participate in. He deserves that. So do our students.
