Today I was inspired to set another goal for the 2012 school year. I attended a conference of the Minnesota Educational Media Organization in St. Cloud. The keynote speaker in the morning was Shannon Miller, a Teacher Librarian and Tech Integrationist from Van Meter, Iowa. Her passions are connecting and creating and frequently blogs to share her experiences. The presentation was inspiring, refreshing, and has motivated me to set another new goal: blogging.
Last spring I tried to do this, but summer started and my blog was put on hold. My goal this year is to become a more consistent blogger. What will I blog about? The jury is still out on that one. My vision is to blog about a variety of topics. One blog may be about what we are doing in school or class that week. Another blog may be about current events. Suggested topics for blogs will also be considered. Also, a random blog is never out of the question.
What do I hope to achieve with blogging? Sir Ken Robinson once said, "If you’re not prepared to be wrong, you’ll never come up with anything original." I don't know if I will create anything original that is worth paying attention too, but I am prepared to be wrong.
